Best versatile rod for its price!

I bought this rod with gray hesitation at the SLC fly fishing expo. I really enjoyed the fly side of it testing it there. Still hasn’t been tested on fly line landing a fish because I’m not that great of a fly fisherman. But I have it paired with a stratic reel and 7lb test. I’ve landed upwards to 20lb cats and carp as well S smaller trout while spin fishing and a 5lb bass since my purchase I believe back in march ir April.

I’m very satisfied with everything this rod has to offer. As it warms up and I hike the Uintas this summer I hope to test it out on some flies and trout up there!

Major versatility

I’m a terrible fly-fisherman but I’m going to use this rod for a spinning reel and an old Johnson Century model 100. Not trying to promote myself but I did a YouTube review of this rod if you actually wanna see it in action.

It’s built “very well”, easy to put together, has a nice little carrying bag and performs great.
I caught several crappie and a small large mouth with ease.
Setting the hook was a dream and distance if cast with 4lb line and a 1/16th oz jig was incredible.
For me, traveling, back packing, biking, motorcycling, with it is going to be great because of it’s 5pc breakdown and being able to use several different styles of reel.
Great job guys, awesome concept that actually works!! Thanks Maxxon!!

What a trip saver this is!

Here is a rod which I always wondered why someone would own a rod like this. This year I went trout fishing with a friend. He used a spinning rod and I used my 5wt Stone Fly. After we fished for an hour he has caught a number of fish and I still had to get even one. I decided to walk back to the vehicle and switch my fly rod for a spinning rod. I immediately started getting fish. Now, that does not mean spinning rod and night crawler is better, but that day it was for me. My next trout trip, when fly fishing was tough, I decided to cheat and replaced my nymph with a bait holder hook, split shot and night crawler. That worked but made casting really hard.
That is when the light went on! That Monday I ordered the Versa rod. I could only use it twice before our trout season closed this year but I am really glad I got it. Many of the creeks around here are not very fly-casting friendly. Many stretches are in, around and under trees. That is where I switch the handle and reel and continue fishing, instead of skipping the areas. I even changed it while standing in the creek with water almost to my waist. It is very easy to switch.
If you like fishing with a fly rod and also spinning reel in some places, this is a fantastic option at a great price.

Always with me!

I literally never leave the house without this rod! Im constantly switching between fly and spin so I have a 5wt SDP and a 1k Florida Fishing Products Osprey reel, ready to pop on for either application, making this rod the absolute leader in versatility!

Top notch gear!

Had a few friends talk me into trying fly fishing and the Versa rod was my first piece of equipment. What I love about this rod is its versatility, I can fly fish or swap out the reel and go to a spin rod setup. This rod has so much bend and its so light weight that you feel every little bite and it doesn't disappoint. Thanks to the team over Maxxon for taking the time to speak to me about their products and helping me get started. This team is amazing and extremely knowledgeable.
