The SLIM fly reel series is a perfect companion for any 2wt to 6wt, 5-foot to 11-foot, be it bamboo, glass or graphite, nymphing or dry-fly rod.

CNC machined from solid 6061-T6 aluminum, this instant classic was designed with modern machining techniques and utilizes an old-school click & pawl system. Without the need for bulky drag systems, or bearings and their housings, the click & pawl system offers a super-slim profile. A small arbor design also helps the SLIM keep an overall width of less than one and one-half inches. Extremely light, the 2/3/4 size SLIM weighs in just over 3 ounces, and the larger 4/5/6 size weighs just under 3.5 oz.

The SLIM comes in two sizes, and each size is available in two beautiful hard-anodized colors. GRAPHITE Gray - to match our QUILL 6-foot 6-inch rod series, and a timeless classic to match just about every other rod ever made, and always classy, Polishied SILVER.

A nice little reel.

What a nice little reel this is. The one I bought from my local fly fishing shop is perfectly finished, well made, and everything works as it should. I have not fished this reel yet, but it is on a short little 3wt rod just waiting for the weather to warm up a bit. I have no doubt it will work fine and last a long time. There just isn’t much to go wrong with a click pawl reel if one takes care of them.

Classic Reel in a Modern Format

Catching fish on this reel is more fun than my others...hands down. Click and paw reels make the fight exciting while providing solid resistance to successfully land game. I've often hoped Maxxon will make this in a 7/8/9 format so I can chase big game on a reel that ignites the audio response of hooking big fish. It's light, aesthetic and durable. I'll be recommending this reel to my friends.

AWESOME little reel!

This is the micro reel I have been missing that I never knew I needed until I bought it! I am used to running 3wt reels on my 3wt rods, but none come close to the micro light feel this reel gives me. I can't say enough how much better my rods balanced out once I put this on and fighting fish on a clicker drag it a HOOT! Love it! Awesome job on the reel guys!! Thank you!!!
