The QUILL feather-light, three-piece, 6-foot 6-inch series packs a big punch! Seeing the need for shorter rods to fish all the little stream fisheries, we designed this series to get in and out of tight spots and fish all small waters that hold bigger fish.

The freedom and mobility a shorter rod like QUILL gives you, is a flat out blast to have in hand. Throwing double-taper or weight-forward lines, the QUILL can still deliver long casts and land fish like a pro. It's also a perfect choice for casting dry flies & nymphs, when longer rods are impeded by enclosed brush on tightly wooded water on small streams.

Anyone who has fished smaller water in tight brush knows, not having the room needed to properly cast can be a real problem. Having the QUILL here can be a huge advantage by reducing your overhead clearance needed by 2 1/2 feet.

Fish in smaller, less-traveled streams, usually spook out of holding water easier from flashes and anything else traveling over their heads. The QUILL's shorter, and less flashy blank with darker guides, can really help keep that over-head flash down to a minimum while working your way towards a seam or pocket.

Offered in a 3wt, 4wt and 5wt, the QUILL will soon to become your new backwater feather-lite favorite!

Good fly rod. It did break recently at the tip, have no clue how though so I won’t blame the rod, I may have stepped on it haha. Ordered a replacement tip and plan on not breaking this one!

One of the best rods I have used!!!!

I bought this with the intention of using it as a small creek rod, and had I know that I would have started using this more than my standard rods I would have bought two!

This rod casts great in close quarters and in large open water and can handle some large trout. I would recommend this rod to anybody and everybody looking for a shorter rod.

Great rods for small streams

I was fortunate to buy the 3 weight and 4 weight rods last year, on a whim. Trying to find the perfect little rod to pair with an OPST Skagit head for fishing the brush choked streams here in Maine that hold brook trout and river small mouth. Using simple single hand spey casts with a short Skagit head, making 40 to 50 foot casts under overhanging branches with minimal backcast room is a breeze with these little rods. I'm impressed.

Not just for trout

I am very impressed with this rod. I received my 4wt late Friday and already had plans to go bass fishing the next day so I decided to take it along and give it a good workout on Mississippi river smallmouth bass. With weighted streamers and small poppers I had a great time and caught numerous smallmouth bass with the Quill, biggest over 2lb. I would normally not take it bass fishing but could not wait to try it. Today I spent some good time trout fishing. With a 4wt DT line I had no trouble making long casts in open areas and get in under trees in tight spots. I am looking forward to fish this rod for panfish. The Quill is fun to fish with and is really exceeding my expectations.

A well-built, high quality, small water rod!

I just received my new quill 5wt yesterday, it is an absolutely solid rod! It has great sensitivity and Halls beautifully for only being 6 1/2', it will be one of my go-to small stream dry fly and nymphing rods! The three-piece construction lends itself well to portability and the case that it comes with is very nice for travel storage.

I doubt this Rod will see much storage because of how much fun it's going to be to use! I highly recommend adding one of these rods to your fishing arsenal!
