Surpassed my expectations for big fish

Before I continue I have to say that I like all the Maxxon rods I have and use. I want to write about this specific rod because I recently used it musky fishing and had a great experience.
I have a 9wt Aurelius which I use for pike and musky fishing. This past weekend I decided to use it for musky fishing. As with most of the weather forecasts lately, the wind was much stronger than expected. I was very surprised how this rod casts in the wind. It is very forgiving and easy to cast big flies in the wind. The biggest surprised to me was how much this rod can bend. I was lucky to get a good fish that day and during the fight the fish went deep right under the boat. The rod bent more than 180 degrees. I was concerned the rod would snap but it held up very well. I have had that happen to other rods as well but this time the bend was more, with the tip facing back under the boat. It is not ideal to fight a fish that way but things happen so fast and we cannot always control what happens.
I highly recommend the #9 or #10 for any game fish. It is easy to cast, very light and a beautiful rod overall.

Great Rod Freshwater Streams or Lakes

When I'm fishing for Mississippi smallmouth, I like the #8 overall on the big water in NorthCentral MN. We also fish the tributaries early in the year when the Ole Miss is too big and muddy. For those trips out of a canoe, the Aurelius #6 is outstanding. I love the full wells grip you just can't find in other brands of six weight fly rods. These rods make it easy to plant a popper among brush or under overhanging vegetation where the behemoths lurk. Great job on these rods, boys!

Dream come true

I have this rod in a 9’ 6wt, this is my Deschutes River rod of choice! Combats the canyon winds perfectly when casting big chubby’s or dry stone flies with a dropper. I am not the best at casting but using this rod makes me feel like I could enter a casting competition, it is smooth as ever and super forgiving. Great rod for beginner to expert.
OH and did I mention chuckin streamers?!! There is plenty of strength in this rod for a big array of streamer sizes, yes I even tie on a streamer the size of a small kitten every now and again targeting bulls on the Metolius river and it handles it fine!
Most of the time I use a double streamer rig (which was too much for other rods I’ve had) but not too much for my Aurelius! I could go on and on about the Aurelius but I’ll spare you and just say do yourself a solid and get one.
You’ll be happy you did!
Also, customer service with Maxxon can not be beat. This world would be a better place if more companies operated with the same values as Maxxon Outfitters. Keep it up Maxxon!

The rod that could

I went bonefishing with the 7 wt. rod. Bonefish sizzled off a 100 yds. Multiple runs by many bonefish. The rod bent down to the butt but held strong. The biggest bonefish was 26" and the rod was up to the task. Rod was paired with XMX III Maxxon reel which also performed its part flawlessly.

You can not beat this rod!!

This rod definitely caught me off guard! I paired the 5wt rod with the hydros 3 reel and it fishes like a dream. After my first trip I was hooked. I landed multiple fish and also got the privilege to land a 23 plus inch rainbow with it! It handled every fish with ease. The action and feel of this rod can not be touched especially at this price point! This rod is as smooth as butter. As a fishing guide I highly recommend this rod to all levels of fly fisherman. Also let’s not forget to mention that their warranty is hands down the best thing I’ve ever seen! These guys definitely know what they are doing, time to keep building up my rod inventory!
