This is by far a better fly rod than any of my orvis rods. It handles 20" browns with ease. It is such a joy to cast in tight spaces due to the extreme accuracy of this rod. I will be buying more double xx rods

6wt Double xx

Let's talk about the Double XX. Here is a rod that has a great fit and finish. From the handle to the guides and down to the wraps, this rod has it all for looks. The logo is pretty freaking cool too. Now granted aren't all fly rods pretty much the same, yes and no. They all do the same task but some better than others. That's where the Double XX comes into play. I was blessed to play with this rod in a 6wt. Let's talk about distance. This rod has absolutely zero issues with dropping a 60ft bomb cast, with ease I might add. Accurate, there is no issue with that either. Pie plate, naw, its more of dropping a size 12 is a soup bowl. I was able to run a multitude of fly sizes through the Double XX. From a size 14 Black Gnat up to a triple articulated streamer, this rod handled it all with no issues. I have what some call high end rods. So we put them side by side on all platforms. The Double XX stood beside all of them. Now lets talk about price point. There's nothing to talk about. This is a one and done. Warranty of the rod, insane. The Company behind the rod. I have spent a vast amount of time with outdoor companies through the years. I have no problems telling you that the folks a Maxxon are hands down some of the best in the business that I have every had the pleasure of doing business with. My only regret is that I did not find out about the Double XX and Maxxon earlier. Maxxon would have made my fishing a lot better. But hey, you never get to old to learn. So if you have made it this far in reading this and are on the fence about this rod. Stop thinking and buy it ! It's that simple and it too will become your new go to rod.

This rod is the one!!

Without a doubt the way it casts, the sensitivity, and strength of this rod is incredible! The warranty can’t be matched by any other brand and the price is unthinkable for a fly rod of this quality. I have fly rods that cost four times as much and I would put this rod up against the others any day! I’m a customer for life!!

Turned me into a Maxxon guy.

I’ve plucked out 9 inch fish out of a small stream with this rod and i’ve pulled 23 inch browns on huge articulated streamer.
Half the time I don’t even notice I have this rod because it does its job so well and blends into the backround.
